This is the most important measurement when buying a wheelchair and is also the most customisable. Thankfully, it is also very easy to measure for. Measure from one hip to the other, then add around an extra half inch or 1 to 2 centimetres either side for comfort.
Whilst seated, measure from the back of the rear (bum, gluteus maximus, whatever you want to call it!) to the back of the knee joint. This time, subtract a couple of centimetres or around a half inch and you'll have a good idea of a comfortable seat depth.
